“What our imaginations told us to create”

School children in Cork City have pushed their creative boundaries with the help of local artists.

Giving school children a glimpse behind the scenes of professions that may not seem outwardly creative, children from St Maries of the Isle Primary School and Sunday’s Well Boys’ and Girls’ National Schools in Cork recently got hands on under the guidance of two talented artists.

Part of Cork City Council’s five-year Culture and Creativity Strategy, artists Susie Walsh and Leah Murphy helped the students dig deeper into the creativity behind the likes of archaeology and architecture. The unique result was ‘Tools of the Trade’, an exhibition of work made by the children and showcased at Cork Public Museum.
